4. People who took part in 2008 Uprising in Tibet

Martyrs Award

Martyrs Award

This award is being given to those who have sacrificed their lives for their nation and their people.

The recipient of the Martyrs award till date are;

1. Pawo Thupten Ngodrup (1998)

2. Runggye Adak (2007)

3. Pawo Jamphel Yeshi (2012)

4. Monks of Kirti Monastery who self-immolated for the cause of Tibet (2013)

5. To self-immolators in Tibet and in exile who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Tibet. (2016)

This April Tenzing Jigme, the current chair of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), was in Taiwan to speak at a Tibet, Taiwan, and Hong Kong activists’ roundtable on democracy, freedom, and self-determination. During his 10-day visit, he also made several public speeches and met with Taiwanese legislators on Tibetan and Taiwanese issues. In this interview Jigme spoke about how he got involved in TYC’s work and shared his insights on Taiwanese society.

TYC donates 1 lakh and appeals for funds

TYC President, Organizational secretary along the Rtyc Delhi President visited Lal Qila Tibetan Sweater Sellers Market this morning. TYC made a donation of Rs. One Lakh and we urge all Tibetans to make donations towards the Emergency Relief Fund. Estimated losses are around Rs.7-10 lakh average per shop and 138 shops have been completely destroyed by the fire. The Tibetans there are in desperate need for support financially and could use every bit of donation we can make. We urge all Tibetans to act and make a donation for our brothers and sisters in this time of need.
