The Tibetan Youth Congress and representatives from various Tibetan civil society organizations had the honour of attending the “Tibet Freedom Fighter Conclave” in Dharamshala, organized by the Department of Security. This significant gathering brought together veteran activists and freedom fighters who have devoted their lives to the Tibetan cause, creating a powerful space for reflection, solidarity, and historical remembrance.
The conclave concluded at the sacred temple of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, adding profound spiritual and symbolic meaning to the occasion. The closing ceremony reaffirmed the enduring connection between Tibet’s spiritual leadership and the Tibetan freedom movement.
As a gesture of deep respect and gratitude, the Tibetan Youth Congress and representatives of Tibetan civil society organizations offered traditional Tibetan white scarves, or khatas, to the representatives of the Gaden Phodrang and the assembled freedom fighters. This heartfelt tribute honoured their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the Tibetan struggle.

The Tibetan Youth Congress also expressed sincere appreciation to the Department of Security for convening and organizing this important event. Beyond fostering meaningful dialogue and unity among participants, the conclave provided a rare and invaluable opportunity to engage directly with living history. Listening to firsthand accounts and personal experiences from the freedom fighters was both deeply moving and profoundly inspiring for all those in attendance.
