• LOBSANG JINPA (President 1977-80 and 1980-83; Advisor 1983-1986; Editor Tibetan Rangzen) : Did his B.A. from Punjab University, Chandigarh after completing school from CST Mussoorie. He was actively involved with RTYCs in Chandigarh and Dharamsala. After college, he joined the Central Tibetan Administration in the Department of Religious and Cultural Affairs, Private Office, Charitable Trust (Calcutta), the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives and Secretary of the Department of Security. Now works as the Secretary in the Private Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

 

  • JAMYANG NORBU (Treasurer 1970-74; Disciplinarian 1974-76; V. Pres. 80-82; Editor Rangzen) : An alumni of St. Joseph School, Darjeeling. As Founder Director of Amnye Machen Institute, He publishes the “Mang-Tso” newspaper and many other journal and books. He is a well-known writer and commentator on Tibetan and Chinese affairs, and made many lecture tours abroad. He is author of several books, including “Horsemen in the Snow”. He also served CTA, most notably as director of TIPA. Earlier he went to Mustang and joined the Tibetan guerilla there.

 

  • JAMPAL CHOSANG (Gen. Secy 1980-83; Vice President 1983-86; Editor English Rangzen) : Graduated form CST Darjeeling, obtained diploma in journalism and worked at the Tibetan Freedom Press. Been the President of the RTYC, Darjeeling for two successive terms. He served with the CTA at the Information Office and Dept. of Service Management. In 1988, he got a USIA Scholarship to study at the University of Florida at Tampa, and thereafter returned to resume CTA service, this time at the Dept. of Health. He worked as Secretary at the Bureau of H.H. the Dalai in Delhi. Now, he heads the office of Tibet at South Africa.

 

  • LOBSANG CHOEPHEL (Vice President 1977-80; Infor. & Publicity Officer 1980-81) : Alumni of Central School for Tibetans, Mussoorie and Buddhist School for Dialectic. Served in various capacities with Central Tibetan Administration. Left for Australia in 1981, and continued to organize Tibet campaigns there. Now back in Dharamsala and working in the Private Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

 

  • SONAM TSERING (Joint Secretary 1977-83) : Schooled from the Tibetan Homes Foundation at Mussoorie. He served with the Central Tibetan Administration in various capacities for many years and was actively involved with the activities of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Dharamsala. He edited “Rangzen”, the bi-monthly magazine of Tibetan youth congress in Tibetan edition. He served as the Cabinet Secretary in the Central Tibetan Administration.

 

  • T.T. KARMA CHOEPHEL (PRO 1977-83; Acting President 1985; V. President 1988-89) : An alumni of Central School for Tibetans Mussoorie, got a B.A. from Delhi University and B.Ed. form Bangalore. He held various post in the RTYC at Delhi and Bylakuppe. Taught at CST Bylakuppe till1981 when he was appointed Rector of CST Shimla and later at Mussoorie. He is a member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile and was the Chairman for the period of six months. In September 1994, he was elected as the President of the newly formed National Democratic Party of Tibet.

 

  • KARMA GYATSO ZURKHANG (Discipline & Info. Secy 1977-83; Editor English Rangzen) : Schooled at the Central School for Tibetans, Mussoorie and did his B.A. from Delhi University. He worked at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, CTA, and Tibetan Review. He was a member of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile and now lives in the United States. He was Vice President of the National Democratic Party of Tibet and a member of the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans.

 

  • SONAM NORBU DAGPO (Social Wel Off 1980-83; President 1983-86; Disciplinary Off. 1989-92) : Did his basic schooling from CST Darjeeling and joined Delhi University and Jamai Milia Islamia University in Delhi to get his B.A., M.A. and B.Ed. He held twice the post of President in Delhi RTYC. Taught in SFF School in Herbertpur for several years. Afterwards, he served in CTA at the Research & Analysis Office in Delhi. In 1992, he got a USIA scholarship to study in the USA. He headed the India and FDC Desk at DIIR. He served as the Secretary at Bureau of H.H. the Dalai Lama. Presently, he is an additional Secretary at DIIR.

 

  • TSEWANG PALJOR alias Apo Derge (Information Officer 1981-83; 1983-86; 1995-1998) : He did his schooling at Panchamari and his Teacher’s training and B.A. from Punjab University, Chandigarh. During his school days at Panchamari, he represented Panchamari at the first Conference of the Tibetan Youth Congress. He held the posts of executive and advisor of the RTYCs at Dalhousie, Paonta Sahib, Orissa and Kalimpong. He taught at CST Dalhousie, Paonta Sahib, Orissa, Bhandhara and now at Kalimpong.
