• TSEWANG PHUNTSOK (Vice President 1989-90; President 1991-95) : Did schooling from CST Mussorie and diploma course in Karnataka. Served as Gen. Secy. (1986-89), V. Prs. & Pre. (1983-86) of RTYC, Dharamsala and edited “Dhasa Messenger”. Travelled widely around the world during these tenures attending various conferences, speaking and lobbying for Tibet. He was in the SFF between 1975-76 and served in CTA as Secy. of the Delek Hospital; Head of the Health Education and Training Cell for the Department of Health. He also served in the DIIR and currently works as the liaison officer for South America desk in New York.

 

  • KARMA SAMTEN RAKAGME (Info. Secy 1990-92; V-President 1992-95; Editor Eng. “Rangzen”) : Born at Gangtok, did schooling from TCV Dharamsala and CST, Mie. He got B.A. (English Hons.) and LL.B. from Delhi University. Held post of Jt. Secy twice (1983-4 & 1985-6) and V. Pres. twice (1989-90 & 1990-Dec) in RTYC, Delhi till he was inducted to Centrex following a vacancy. 1990-92 he functioned from Delhi as a Spokesman of TYC. Attended workshop on “Political Strategies” in Portugal. He edited ‘March’ RTYC, Delhi magazine (1984). Served as Jt. Secy of Tibetan Freedom Movement, Delhi (1986-88).

 

  • LOBSANG NYANDAK (Jt. Secy 1991-92; Gen. Secy 1992-95; Editor English “Rangzen”) : Born at Kalimpong in 1965, completed his schooling from SFF School and CST Mie. In 1986, earned B. A. and B. Ed. from Panjab University at Chandigarh. Served as Gen. Secy of RTYC, Chandigarh (1988-89) and as Exe. Secry at Centrex office (1990-91). Took over as Gen. Secy in 1992 and attended UN Conference in Egypt and made lecture tour in Sweden. Served as President of Tibetan Freedom Movement, Chandigarh (1989-90) & Gen. Secy/Spokesperson of Tibetan Peace March Committee. After TYC, he served in NDPT and also as Executive Director of TCHRD. Later he was appointed as Kalon for Finance and Health.

 

  • YANGCHEN DOLKAR (Information Secretary 1992-95; General Secretary 1995-1998) : Born at Dharamsala, she did basic schooling at the CST Bylakuppe and later on did B. Com. from Christ College in Bangalore and diploma in auditing at Chandigarh. While in college she served as Rupon, Cultural Secretary and Vice President of the RTYC, Bangalore and also with RTYC Dharamsala. At Centrex, she represented TYC at various International women’s fora. Joined CTA and served in the Audit Commission for 2 years before being elected to the Centrex in 1992.

 

  • THUPTEN WANGYAL alias Flying Monk (Finance Secy 1989-92; PRO 1992-95) : Did his schooling from CST Dalhouie. Joined the Gyuto Tantric Monastery at Hunsur in 1970 and was Gen Secy of Monastery for 12 years. He held the post of President for tow successive terms 1983-89 of the RTYC, Hunsur and Vice President and President of the Joint Action Committee of the South India. He did a dairy farming course in the US in 1989, and joined the CTA service in 1980 and appointed as Settlement Officer at Tezu and Orissa. He also served as the PRO at the Bureau of H.H. the Dalai Lama in New Delhi.

 

  • TOPGYAL (Cultural Secretary 1992-95) : He had his education in Kalimpong. He was an active loyal member of the TYC and held various post in the RYTC, Dharamsala including the post of President. Joined CTA service in 1976 and worked with Research & Analysis Office, ATPD Secretariat, Bhandara Settlement Officer, and Constitution Redrafting Committee. He is now working at the Kashag Secretariat.

 

  • KUNGA TASHI (Cultural Secretary 1992-95; Editor Tibetan ‘Rangzen’) : Born and educated in Lhasa, he escaped to Indian in 1983. Involved with RTYC Dharamsala since coming to Dharamsala. He serves CTA at the Research & Analysis Centre and now in the Department of Security. He edited publication of book “Tibet: A Land of Snows” in Tibetan; he is well versed in Chinese also. He worked at the Tibetan Culture Centre in Taipei.

 

  • TSEWANG TENZIN (Finance Secretary 1992-95) : Did his basic schooling in Central School for Tibetans, Dalhousie and later joined the Gyudmed Tantric College (1970-79) and served as its Secretary. He studied at Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi from 1979 to 1983. He is fluent speaker of Japanese language. He held the post of General Secretary and President of the RTYC, Hunsur (1987-1989).

 

  • BUCHUNG K TSERING (PRO 1992-93; Jt. Secy 1993-95; Editor of English “Rangzen”) : Schooled at CST Bylakuppe and Darjeeling. Did his higher studies at Delhi and obtained B. A. (English Hons.). While in Delhi, he served as Treasurer and President and in Dharamsala, served as Jt. Secy & Vice President of RYTC. Edited ‘March magazine of RTYC, Delhi and ‘Dharamsala Messenger’ of RTYC, Dharamsala. Before joining the CTA in 1984, he briefly worked with the Indian Express newspaper. He served as an Associate Secy at the DIIR, and was editor of “Tibetan Bulletin” until he joined International Campaign for Tibet where he continues.

 

  • LOBSANG SINGYE (Information Secretary 1992-94) : An alumni of CST Darjeeling, he completed +2 at St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling. At Delhi, he did his B.A. (English Hons.) and completed LL.B. from Delhi University. In Darjeeling, he served as Vice President (1988-89). In Delhi, he served as General Secretary (1989-90) and the President in 1990-91 of RTYC. Resigned in October 1994 upon his election as General Secretary of the new Chushi Gangdurg, by a special Dhotoe GBM. Gone to USA on USIA scholarship for two years studied and graduated from Havard University.
